In our dedicated role as the Contractor, Easy Shell Construction proudly presents the Prestage Foods Food Manufacturing & Distribution facility in Kershaw, South Carolina. Executed between 2018 and 2020, this monumental project involved the construction of a 300,000 sq. ft., $150,000,000 refrigerated food production and distribution facility.
Project Highlights:
This facility stands out not only for its size and scale but also for housing the largest compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station outside of Texas or California. With the capacity for 60 CNG semi-trucks to fuel simultaneously, it represents a significant leap forward in sustainable transportation practices. Notably, a portion of the CNG utilized is refined landfill methane gas, contributing to the project’s sustainability goals.
Challenge:
The project presented a unique challenge where 5 acres of concrete had to be placed, finished, and made drivable while 120 trucks were away. Overcoming this logistical hurdle required meticulous planning and execution, showcasing Easy Shell Construction’s ability to navigate complex challenges seamlessly.
