As a versatile construction firm, we at Easy Shell Construction took on a unique and innovative project – a 36,000 square foot indoor cultivation facility in New Jersey. Our multifaceted role as the General Contractor, Structural Architect, and Self-performing Shell, Roof & Interiors Contractor allowed us to address the distinct challenges posed by this ambitious venture.

The Challenge:

The cultivation of marijuana on an industrial scale demands precision and meticulous attention to detail. Our challenge was to create an environment tailored to support optimal growth, featuring an R-100 envelope for extreme control over the surroundings. Additionally, the facility required surfaces that adhere to hospital cleanliness standards.

Innovation:

To meet these demanding specifications, we introduced cutting-edge solutions. The entire project is designed and permitted using Easy Shell Construction’s proprietary glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) coated foam system. This innovative approach extends to all structural and interior walls, roofs, mezzanines, and elevated floors.

The harsh winters in New Jersey necessitated a robust structure capable of withstanding heavy snow loads. In response, we leveraged our expertise to design a facility that not only meets these climatic challenges but also incorporates co-generation equipment on the roof. This forward-thinking addition ensures the facility’s self-sustainability, aligning with the client’s vision and attractive tax & financing incentives.

This project showcases our commitment to pushing the boundaries of construction innovation. Easy Shell Construction’s holistic approach, combining architectural expertise, cutting-edge materials, and a self-sustaining vision, has resulted in a state-of-the-art indoor cultivation facility ready to meet the demands of the burgeoning industry.
